Start with the whole layout: Identify the property’s orientation and locate the entrance, kitchen, bedrooms, toilets and centre on a floor plan. A room name alone does not describe its position. Articles about the north-east, south-west or another direction are easier to understand when you can relate them to an accurately marked plan. For a multi-floor property, keep a separate plan for each floor.
